Sammie is from Houston, and aside from a
three-year stint singing backup for Isaac Hayes, he has
largely performed for Houston audiences. He is primarily a
unique cover singer, but has also released a few albums of
original songs over the years, most recently Solo Flight.
He is most widely known as the singer in residence at the
Gallant Knight and Sammy's at 2016 Main. He has now opened
his own place, The Real Sammie at 711 Franklin. Sammie
Relford is famous for his shows, where he pours his heart
out on stage sweating, dancing, and singing his heart out to
a very diverse crowd, which absorbs every ounce of his
energy.
